From contemporary Italian composer Stefano Ottomano’s evocative “Menhir”, to the beloved, rhythmically rich works of South American harpist Alfredo Rolando Ortiz, this program highlights the diversity of our harp ensemble repertoire.
Featuring also is Hungarian pianist-composer Gergö Teleki’s “Step into the Light”, written for our ensemble and an audience favourite, it beautifully reflects our festival’s mission.
Rounding out is the world premiere of “As the Swallow Flies”, a powerful new collaboration between Toronto-born harpist, Sunshine Quan (Eastman DMA2026) and Toronto world music composer, Matthew James Van Driel.
